Too bad this version doesn't have the floating doll and eye in it.

Did you become more antisocial after waking up?
by paradiseseeker ini've been shy my whole life, but during my teenage years and early 20s i managed to be more comfortable socializing and made many friends in different parts of my country (jws of course).
that was before i woke up, because i saw myself being a jw for the rest of my life and thus i made an effort to meet new jw friends.
however, after i woke up, i lost interest in meeting new people because knowing that when i leave they will be gone... feels like a total waste of time and energy.

I also am on the introverted side. I had older sisters as friends but not really the younger group.
When I left, I felt like I could go out and meet lots of people and find friends. I thought extended family who had left, would now bond and be close. Those two things did not happen. So now I am basically alone. I haven't found any group I want to meet up with. There is one or two ladies I chat with at the the thrift stores, my sister, one guy at work, some present JW's at work who pretend that they don't recognize I don't go to meetings and so chat with me.
I end up working and then going home to watch the computer.

They still manage to find me.
by blisterfeet ini grew up a jw, left at about 17 years old..(i'm 33 now) a little over a year ago i moved 1000 miles away from where i grew up.
today i "ran" into someone in the same congregation as my dad... like how is that even possible?!?!?
he was very kind, mentioned the borg but only in ways that related to his life.. his daughter is a pioneer, my dad gives "the best" comments at the meetings, my sister is awesome.. blah blah blah... .

Coincidences do happen. Just don't let them tell you it was "jehovah" calling you back.... I don't think alot about JW stuff at the moment, but as soon as I go over to my mom's house (who will die as a JW ) various annoying thoughts come up about how my life was sucked away by this religion. Oh well.

One day the Nouns were clustered . . .
by compound complex inone day the nouns were clustered on the street.. an adjective walked by, with her dark beauty.
the nouns were struck, moved, changed.
the next day a verb drove up, and created the sentence.. -- kenneth koch, "permanently".

My sister might like this thread. Hahaha, I failed in 9th grade to grasp what these mean. Somehow I did manage to "structure" a sentence but I don't know how I did it. I'm more of a "punny" person.

My 13 YO opened up to me about her memories of attending a memorial service
by nonjwspouse inshe was only around five when she last attended.
it was just when i began the "for real" investigation about the jw and watchtower, previously believing the public face.
i would agree to go with my husband so his mother could show off her grandchild.

Good for you also, on showing respect for your husband's possible baptism. People make decisions on all sorts of things that we may not agree on but things are far better if we recognize it's their choice and respect it. (something I'm a little behind on)
My mother was a JW from when I was 5 and often showed disrespect for my father. She made her religion a point to feel superior over him and made us look down on him too. Not that he didn't have any faults. She never had to work an 8 hour day because of her worldly husband and enjoys all the benefits his lifelong hard work gives her. I'm regretful that now when we are out, his mind is going and it's very limited on how we can a deep conversation with him.

Try this on a JW
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthis is not intended to expose wrong teachings etc, just to promote thinking and asking questions.. 1) ask if imperfection and death automatically follow sin.
jw will answer yes.. 2) ask if satan is imperfect then.. 3) sit back and watch them try to work out what the right answer should be.. sf.

Because of his sin, he is no longer perfect and will eventually die. God has allowed him to live this long so that he can use the suffering and death of countless millions of humans,to prove his point to Satan. Once his point has been made, Satan's sin will be followed by death.
Yeah, and since he was a superhuman angel, he just gets to live longer than a human before he would die a "natural" death.

The Word Perhaps makes it True! Perhaps the Physician Luke was the first to reach Eutychus......
It would be fun to search how many times that word is used to make new light true! Or anything else for that matter.
used to express uncertainty or possibility.synonyms:maybe, for all one knows, it could be, it may be, it's possible, possibly, conceivably; -

Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

The last few meetings I went to, my eyes were rolling out of my head over the pompous, self adulation of the GB.
If I were to walk into a hall now, it would seem like I've walked onto a set from a tv series. A place like the twilight zone. I wouldn't be able to stop myself from laughing in disbelief or saying "that's crap".
So I don't think I'll be going.

I often wonder, hey, maybe a mad person made this.
Some of it seems to represent the female reproductive system. Pretty crazy botany going on too. Lots of naked females that are poorly drawn. Even tho the flowers and the plants don't look familiar, they have their own style and are better drawn than the people. It gives me the impression of a medical/herbal/spell/these plants represent people parts kind of thing. Add a lot of poor advice too.
